She was kicked off the basketball team because of the potential for “drama” her presence created. She’s been vilified by fellow students, called “criminal,” “rapist” and “child abuser.” She was expelled from school. And far worse. She’s facing a lifetime label of “sex-offender,” because the other girl’s parents brought criminal charges against her despite the fact that the relationship was consensual. What’s more, according to Hunt’s parents, Hunt was 17 when the relationship began, but the other girl’s parents waited until after she turned 18 to go to police.
Unbelievably, prosecutors have decided to press the criminal charge.
Emphasis mine.So the prosecutor’s office in Sebastian River, Florida thinks this is a worthwhile use of taxpayer money and the court’s time.
Fuck everything about this.

I don’t currently have a steady income, but I still donated what I could to help pay for her defense. This is a horrible abuse of the legal system and the police should be ashamed of themselves for not taking into consideration that the girls are peers and neither has made any claims that the relationship wasn’t consensual. This girl is about to have her life ruined because of bigotry manipulating and motivating the legal system.

But in the end, the gender of the person you love and/or you have sex with doesn’t matter. Heroes and heroes, no matter who they love.

Hey there!
Starbucks stood up for gay rights, and their support for gay marriage was critical in the passage of gay marriage law in Washington State. Now the Nat’l Organization for Marriage is getting people to boycott them.
I want to thank corporations for doing good things, even if those corporations aren’t perfect all the time. Will you join me in signing a thank you card to Starbucks?
